The future of hip hop begins when a legacy is created...

Rap prodigy Runna, born Christopher Proctor 1/2 of "2DOPE" is the future of hip hop. Raised by a single mother of four, in metro Atlanta, Chris developed an affinity for hip hop and would later find out that his biological father shared his same passion. Growing up Chris struggled to find his groove. He was the second child and only boy in a house full of women. His father figures consisted of his step-grandfather for which he was named, and his mother’s boyfriend, Cedric Lyons, who would not only teach him the art of the hustle but also introduce him to the music industry.

Chris discovered his musical talent at the young age of 11 years old when Cedric would take him to the studio to keep him out of trouble. As a young teen, Chris was a regular on the local music scene, attending and performing at local music showcases. It was there he met local rapper Tyrone Ward and New Orleans rapper, Rynell “Nizzy” Robin. They became fast friends and with Cedric’s eye for talent and encouragement, they began collaborating musically under the moniker “Higher Grind Music Group.”

Emotionally pained by his step-grandfather’s abandonment of the family, Chris began to have problems in school. Dropping out of HS in the 9th grade, Chris felt there was a better life waiting for him so he enrolled in Job Corps. It was there that he completed his GED, learned a trade and went on to enroll in Gordon State College as a Business major on a scholarship. His initial desire was to become a professional football player but music kept pulling him away.

Leaving college to pursue music full time, led to a moderately successful hit in “Fully Loaded” (2015). Lacking the exposure needed to push the record commercially, he went back into the lab with Tyrone and Nizzy (Rynell) and Obligated to Eat Records was born.
Growing up, Chris never knew his biological father. Uncertain of who his father was, his mother revealed to him that it may be a rapper that she was once involved with. After reaching out to him via social media, it was discovered that T-Double of the legendary rap group, “MC Breed & The DFC,” was indeed his father. He was 19 when they finally met. Through intimate conversations getting to know his father better, Chris discovered they had eerily identical stories of when they fell in love with hip hop. With the support and encouragement of his father, Chris is Obligated to Eat and ready to takeover the next generation of hip hop.
